Leadership Traits: Willingness to accept responsibility

Have you ever joined a company only to find later that your boss or team had no idea what they were doing and when things went wrong no one, not even the head of the company, would accept any responsibility for it? If this has happened to you, you have discovered why an important trait of a leader is their willingness to accept responsibility.

Any company that wants to be successful and survive for years to come must take responsibility for making that possible. The weight of the task should not fall on the followers but on the leadership because an effective leader will understand the importance of their role.

A leader is someone who will guide their followers to success, so what does this mean in the online business world? Well, simply put, this means that the goal of a leader should be to create new leaders. But the problem we face today is that a lot of leaders don’t want their followers to become leaders because they’d rather be customers.

If you are constantly looking for the right way, you will keep spending money until you find it. That’s just a good job. (or so they say)

However, a great leader takes full responsibility and because of this works hard to ensure your success. Their goals are your goals and help you reach your goals.

Let me ask you a question, would you rather have a leader who took charge of his team, who did coaching calls with his team, who did one-on-one meetings with his team? Do you want a leader who believes firmly in you and has been willing to work with you as long as you are willing to work with him?

Or would you prefer a leader who did not accept responsibility for his followers or for anything. Who is always blaming you for your failures and telling you that you didn’t try enough or that you didn’t put in enough time or contacted enough people, or spent enough money on advertising.

What kind of leader would you like to have if you had a choice?

The type of leader you want says a lot about the kind of leader you are or will be.

Don’t lose sight of the fact that people are people with hopes, dreams, and goals. They are looking for someone who can show them the right path and someone who does will be a leader in their eyes and will continue to follow that person (maybe you) for years to come.

Ask yourself what kind of leader do you want to be?
